S and J Cafe in Oconomowoc

Enjoyed lunch there today. Chose their grilled cheese. It was very good. 3 types of cheese with tomatoes on a croissant. Had the fruit cup as my side. Was delighted to find that it included blueberries & blackberries. The owners were very nice too.

Don't let the outside appearance fool you! Good things come in small packages and this is no exception. We had driven past many times but never went in... What a mistake! Wonderful friendly people, excellent food and great service. We live in Waukesha and happened to be in Oconomowoc and wanted to try a local place to eat. Very glad we did and we will be back for sure, it's worth the drive.

Very good food and friendly people! It's just a little place but they're really nice and make your food in front of you on a little grill. A nice menu and have daily specials. Plus, they keep your cup full.

Always wanted to try this place for many years and finally did. Wow why did I wait so long? Stopped in after the farmers market and even though I had doubts of waiting too long I was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away! Excellent food, prices, and best yet the service and owners who run it all. Really the epitome of small town charm. Try it you won't be disappointed!

First time going here and it was great! The breakfast foods were so good and so were the cheeseburger and fries. The waitress was so nice and very accommodating for the kids. Will definitely be back soon. Great value too.

Good food. Friendly service. Menu appears limited but I did hear someone order one of my favorite items that I didn't see on the menu. So I would recommend asking and they will let you know if they can do it for you.

Great little spot for food... hash browns were hand shredded and really good.. we went early and had no issues but place is small. We will be back!!! Can’t wait to try other items and see what lunch looks like.Update!! Second trip was even better!! If you have to wait for a table or bar stool don’t get mad.. food is well worth it..

All the food is great. Great service too! Nice to sit right by grill and see your food being cooked. Amazing burgers on super great Texas toast. Can't go wrong with any of the breakfast related options either.Great pricing and serving sizes. Always plenty of left overs. Must visit place if you want great breakfast food. It can just be a little busy but its so worth any wait.

Wow. What a find. Scott and Jennifer are super nice people serving up great food in a warm, homey, old-fashioned atmosphere, in a historic building. If I lived near Oconomowoc, I be here every breakfast and lunch. Diner heaven.

While visiting my in-laws we stopped in for a late breakfast and I'm glad we did. I had the house special the "stacky". It's scrambled eggs in a wrap with hollandaise sauce. It was delicious. We definitely will stop back in next time we are visiting.

Best place for breakfast, hands down! Their corned beef hash is off the charts good. Homemade, NOT from a can. The service is fantastic and the owners are absolutely lovely!

The wife and husband that own this place are not only great people but people who know what is good food and service. Whatever you order will be great and the service will also be terrific.

This place was great. Small place with real friendly staff. The food was great. My wrap was delicious, hashbrowns were NOT oily like other places, and my wife was able to eat her scramble eggs because they were cooked perfectly (no liquid). And she couldn't stop talking about how great the sourdough toast was. Perfect amount of butter was added. This was our first time here, we will be back.

The owners are amazing, and are incredibly hard workers. Food is always hot, fresh, delicious! They turn tables really fast and even if it feels like it might be a long wait, they get to everyone quickly!
